On this website
This site sets no advertising cookies and does not build a profile of you for marketing. It offers one analytics tool, described below, and runs it only if you say yes.
- Strictly necessary
- Kept only for the length of your visit, to make the site work
- Analytics
- Microsoft Clarity, only if you accept - see below
- Your cookie choice
- Kept in your browser's local storage, so we do not ask on every visit
- Advertising

Microsoft Clarity
We use Microsoft Clarity to understand how people use this site - which sections they read, where they get stuck, and which links they never find. It records page interactions and aggregates them into heatmaps and session recordings.
- What it sets
- Cookies named _clck and _clsk, plus related local storage
- What it records
- Clicks, scrolling, mouse movement, page views, browser and device type, and approximate region from your IP address
- Retention
- Managed by Microsoft, generally up to 12 months
- Provider
- Microsoft Corporation - see Microsoft's privacy statement
Clarity is off until you choose. On your first visit a banner asks whether to allow analytics, with Accept and Reject given equal weight. Clarity loads only after you accept; if you reject, or ignore the banner, it never loads.
You can change your answer at any time with Cookie settings, at the foot of the home page and of every policy page, including this one. If you withdraw consent, we tell Clarity to stop for the rest of your visit, and from your next page load it is not loaded at all.
Clarity runs only on the deployed site. It is disabled on localhost and in development builds, so it never records our own testing.
In the app
The mobile app does not use cookies. It stores a small amount of data on your device so it can work:
- Session token
- Keeps you signed in. Cleared when you sign out
- Theme and preferences
- Remembers your accent colour and dark-mode choice
- Cached reports
- Lets past reports open without re-downloading
All of it is removed when you delete the app or your account.
Controlling it
- Analytics - Cookie settings, at the foot of the home page and every policy page, reopens the choice
- Browser - clear cookies and site data in your browser's privacy settings; you will be asked about analytics again
- App - sign out to clear the session token, or delete the app to clear everything
Clearing strictly-necessary storage may sign you out, but will not otherwise break anything.
